I led the design of the Smart Cache Device, a hybrid solution for fast file access and bandwidth optimization.
It resulted in 250+ new customers, 10K unique users, and 5 device sales in 3 weeks of launch by addressing slow downloads, manual sync issues, streamlining setup processes, and offering actionable dashboard insights.

In today’s cloud-driven world, businesses struggle with delayed file access and insufficient visibility into system performance. The Smart Cache Device was designed to address these challenges by:
Reducing delays for large file downloads (e.g., AutoCAD, Adobe Premiere Pro)
Providing metrics to demonstrate ROI and business value of the device
Simplifying manual setup processes for administrators
Lead Designer: driving the end-to-end design process from user research to implementation.
Collaborated with cross-functional teams to align technical capabilities with user needs and introduced features like caching policies, pre-seeding/caching folders and files, and real-time dashboards to address key pain points.

- Simplified Device Setup: Introduced a caching policy that allows
administrators to setup the Smart Cache Device without pre-selecting folders,
streamlining the process.
- Pre-seeding the cache: Developed a method to pre-seed files, enhancing
access speed for first-time users while establishing criteria to streamline setup
and optimize the on-premises cache size for users.
3) User Flow Development:
- Developed comprehensive workflows, incorporating edge case handling and error scenarios, to create end-to-end workflows, from purchasing the device to tracking its health and optimizing usage.

IT admins can skip this pre-seeding step and allow users (Program Managers/CIO) to define which folders or files should be pre-downloaded for quick access after the admins complete the device setup.
The Cache Warming capability allows users to specify the folders and files to pre-fetch and have them ready upon the completion of the Smart Cache device setup.
Users (Program Managers/CIO) can change the selection and criteria for which folders need to be pre-fetched, whenever required.
Admins can monitor how devices are functioning. If there are any issues with device performance, they can share these statistics with the IT team to get them resolved as soon as possible.
Admins can monitor all devices deployed on the Egnyte domain and take action if required. This also helps them understand the value proposition of the Smart Cache device.
Admins can track the usage of each device deployed to the Egnyte domain in a list format.
